10 Years of Journey

From Musu Dojo To Yuko Shinzen Dojo

On June 18, 2026, Yuko Shinzen Dojo marked its 10th anniversary, celebrating a journey that began in 2016 under the name Musu Dojo.

What started as a small group of practitioners sharing a passion for Aikido has gradually grown into a vibrant community of students, instructors, families, and friends who continue to learn, support one another, and walk the path together.

Over the past decade, countless hours have been spent on the tatami — training, teaching, learning, and growing. More than techniques and ranks, these ten years have been shaped by friendships, perseverance, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to the values that Aikido represents.

The anniversary gathering brought together members from different generations of the dojo. The day was filled with keiko, moments of reflection, shared memories, and a warm celebration among those who have contributed to the growth of YSD throughout the years.

Looking back, ten years is not simply a measure of time. It is a story of people who met through Aikido and grew together through challenges, achievements, and countless moments both on and off the tatami. It is a journey built not only by instructors and students, but also by parents, families, and friends who have supported the dojo along the way.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all students, instructors, parents, and friends who have been part of this journey. We are also deeply grateful for the guidance and support of Yamashima Takeshi Sensei, Aigo Ken’ichirō Sensei, and our friends at Chiyoda-ku Aikikai, whose encouragement and friendship have helped shape the development of Yuko Shinzen Dojo throughout the years.

As we celebrate this milestone, we do so not only with pride in what has been achieved, but also with gratitude for everyone who has walked this path together. The journey continues, and we look forward to many more years of learning, sharing, and growing through Aikido.

"Ten years is not merely a mark of time, but a journey of people who met, learned, and grew together on the same path." 🍃🙏
