10 Years of Journey

From Musu Dojo To Yuko Shinzen Dojo

On 18 June 2026, Yuko Shinzen Dojo celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a journey that began in 2016 under the name Musu Dojo.

What started as a small group of people brought together by a shared passion for Aikido has grown into a vibrant community of students, instructors, families, and friends who continue to learn, support one another, and walk the path together.

Over the years, countless hours have been spent on the tatami—training, teaching, learning, and growing. More than techniques or ranks, this journey has been shaped by friendship, perseverance, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to the values at the heart of Aikido.

The anniversary gathering brought together members from different generations of the dojo. The day was filled with keiko, moments of reflection, shared memories, and a warm celebration among everyone who has contributed to the growth of Yuko Shinzen Dojo.

Looking back, this anniversary is more than a milestone in time. It is the story of people who met through Aikido and grew together through challenges, achievements, and countless moments both on and off the tatami. It is a journey built not only by instructors and students, but also by parents, families, and friends whose unwavering support has helped the dojo flourish.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to every student, instructor, parent, and friend who has been part of this journey. We are also deeply grateful for the guidance and support of Yamashima Takeshi Sensei, Aigo Ken’ichirō Sensei, and our friends at Chiyoda-ku Aikikai, whose encouragement, friendship, and trust have played an invaluable role in the development of Yuko Shinzen Dojo.

As we celebrate this milestone, we do so not only with pride in what has been achieved, but with sincere gratitude for everyone who has walked this path alongside us. The journey continues, and we look forward to many more years of learning, sharing, and growing together through Aikido.

"Ten years is not merely a measure of time, but a journey shared by people who met, learned, and grew together along the same path." 🍃🙏
